Push Play/Redefining Pop, 2004

Push Play/Redifining Pop at the Jacksonville Museum of Modern Art in Jacksonville, Florida, featured many of Didi’s play sculptures.

"Didi Dunphy’s work takes a playful tone. Her vividly colored upholstered creations transport the viewer to the realm of the playground.  Her oversized see-saw constructed from raspberry metal flake Naugahyde and complete with pink-fringed handle bars invites viewers to climb aboard and rekindle childhood memories.  While borrowing the simple lines and bold colors from earlier art movements, Dunphy’s work offers a counterpoint to the austerity and purity of minimalism and hard-edge painting." -- George Kinghorn, Chief Curator
